I've already written about the actual wedding so I won't repeat myself. Their reception was down the road from where the service was albeit four hours later. It was at a place called the Brazilian Room. To be honest, I don't know why as there wasn't anything Brazilian about it at least as far as I could see.
Dinner began with a simple salad that had these interesting tiny little pine nuts that made it pretty good.
Dinner was a buffet. All the usual things. Some nice grilled vegetables, the pasta that had some delicious corn and roast beef. What I found interesting was the cilantro sauce that came with the beef. It was very good and made an ordinary roast beef quite delicious. I ordinarily am one to load up on great mustard and horseradish, but this cilantro stuff made me forget about the traditional sides. It was very good.
FYI - the Brazilian room is so named because it was constructed using wood from the Brazil pavilion in the San Francisco World's fair in 1939-1940. All of the wood is actually from Brazil. That's about it though.
Sorry the wedding dinner wasn't more spectacular. We were expecting more... but ultimately, it's the people that matter! I agree, the cilantro "stuff" was D-lish. The beef is actually called "Tri-tip" in these parts. It's a local thing... I don't know what the difference is really. But people here in Cali seem to insist it is "Tri-tip", not just roast beef. Go figure.

Mike!
What are you doing reading this blog? Aren't you honeymooning? The wedding looks spectacular - we wish we were with you in person, in addition to being there in spirit. A most fine day to get married!!
