Summer has arrived in Toronto. The sun was out and we spent Saturday afternoon drinking sangria at Friscos sitting on a sunny patio. It was the good life. The sangria hit the spot. I wish it had more fruit in to though. I think one of the great things about sangria is the wine soaked fruit that you get to nibble at when you are done your glass. The first pitcher had some orange slices and some lemon, while the second pitcher only had lemon. Along with our drinks we had their trio of dips. Humous, some sort of red pepper thing and an artichoke and asiago. The first two were quite ordinary, white the artichoke and asiago was nice. I wish they had given us some more bread though, we ran out with still lots of dip left in the ramekins. But even that combined with extremely slow service couldn't really spoil a lovely afternoon sitting on a patio with friends and drinking sangria.
