    The Cake

    Wedding cake
So here's the cake. It is a lemon butter cream. Simple, but very good. The cake was a bit of an act of faith on Daphne and my part, much like everything else to do with the wedding. Though we set an overall direction in the beginning, virtually all the detail work was done by her mother and the cake was no exception. The only real direction I offered with the cake was that I didn't want fruit cake and I wanted a butter cream icing, not fondant. Though fondant cakes look terrific, taste was what I was concerned about. So armed with some pictures, Daphne's mother found a baker and this was the result. It was a very simple lemon sponge with lemon curd and butter cream icing, oh so good. It was exactly what I would have asked for if I was going to specify the cake. I loved it and cake wait to have the remainder of the cake when we head back for Christmas.

you cake wait to have some more??
    =)

    It was D-lish-ous.
    Good call on the icing.

Sadly, cake from a box has everyone thinking that cakes aren't that special. This was a good cake, worthy of praise, as a good wedding cake should be.
